16x48" Original Painting

Acrylic Paint on Hand-Stretched Canvas

This piece was inspired by the view on a rappel from an ice climb in Orient Bay, Ontario, Canada, called "Remember The Day." While rappelling, I paused and admired how small I felt amongst the massive headwall of ice stretching above and below me. On the neighboring cliff, there was a white pine hanging on the edge with all its might. I painted this mostly from memory, with a few reference photos, and a lot of artistic liberties.
