About Me

I'm Mikayla, a self- taught painter from Duluth, MN. The inspiration for my paintings comes from the adventures I've experienced, often right out my front door.

Though art has been a constant theme throughout my life, I began to explore painting more seriously in 2017. As an ecologist, I feel pulled to draw attention to the natural world and its many wonders, while also indulging in my need to create art. My passion for ecology, climbing, outdoor adventures, and expression through paintbrush on canvas has deepened my relationship with nature. Painting is as much a part of my life as any other outdoor pursuit.

There is no shortage of natural inspiration in the Arrowhead Region of Minnesota. I feel lucky to live in such a beautiful place, and I hope to share this beauty with those who view my art.
