Winter

Turbulence (HMR)

An iconic ice climb along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising, MI. This flow forms over Lake Superior in the winter, and few dare to climb it while the lake is angry.

The Invitation

This 16x20" piece reflects on the perspective one faces when staring up at a beautiful ice flow in a chimney, moments prior to beginning a delicate, cautious ascent.

Building Dreams

11x14" Acrylic on canvas. This piece was inspired by an ice flow in Kama Bay, Ontario, Canada. The flow was far too drippy to climb - "building ice" conditions - but the stunning colors and translucency in the ice was beautiful.
