11"x14" Acrylic on Canvas, in a hand-made pine frame
As we were driving through Yellowstone National Park, Mr. Bison here was all by his lonesome, moseying about in this little valley, separated from the rest of the herd by the hill behind him. On our way back to the entrance gates, we passed by him again. This time, he was grazing beneath this singular tree. I snapped a quick reference photo, because that moment felt poetic in a way. Just two dudes, hanging out, keeping each other company. I began the sketch on the plane ride home, to help solidify the composition in my mind.
The frame is hand-made, by my grandpa and myself.
