About Me

I'm Mikayla, a self- taught painter from Duluth, MN. The inspiration for my paintings comes from the adventures I've experienced, often right out my front door.

Though art has been a constant theme throughout my life, I began to explore painting more seriously in 2017. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology, I felt pulled to draw attention to the natural world and its many wonders, while also indulging in my need to create art. All of this combined with my passion for climbing and outdoor adventures led to expression through paintbrush on canvas. Painting is as much a part of my life as any other outdoor pursuit.

Residing in Duluth, Minnesota, there is no shortage of natural inspiration. I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place, and I hope to share this beauty with those who view my art.
